Overall Score 5/6

Atmosphere 6/6

As soon as the door swings shut behind you, it feels like you’ve left the city, and your stresses behind. Instead of a traditional waiting / reception room you’re greeted by a “serenity room” with soft lighting, neutral colors, and the calming sound of falling water provided by two beautiful waterfalls.

Every detail of the décor has been designed with relaxation in mind, from the plush carpet, the neutral color scheme, even the names of the treatment rooms have been given a little something extra, with traditional numbers being replaced by names such as, joy, peace, wisdom, and harmony.

The staff itself bends over backwards to ensure that you are comfortable at all times. They provide you with a robe, slippers, cucumber water ( heaven) or tea, and anything lse you might need.

Variety of Treatments 4/6
Value 5/6

Satori offers a selection of both traditional and unique treatments, at prices in both ends of the spectrum. Massage, reflexology, shiatsu, and acupuncture are offered as are hypnotherapy and counseling. The goals of the treatments are to create health as well as relaxation in the body, and they are designed to enhance a healthy lifestyle.

Oriental Head and Face Massage 6/6

30 minutes $60 / 60 minutes $90

Release tension and headaches, reduce facial wrinkles and stimulate your body’s energy channels

Carolyn (who has a list of qualification taller than me including the study of Chinese medicine, acupuncture, Thai massage, and so much more) began the massage by asking a bunch of questions to get a idea about my general health, she then proceeded to ask to see my tongue ( The tongue is a good indicator of health). She then left the room as I undressed and lay down on the table
The massage encompassed my head, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands, and was a half hour of pure bliss. Carolyn had warned me before she began that there might be a few spots of stiffness (where the body’s natural energy channels are blocked) and there were, but they were quickly relaxed by Carolyn’s skilled hands.
There really is no feeling that can compare to being massaged by someone who really knows their craft and I got up from that table feeling like a new person. This is definitely a treatment that I think everyone should try and my only regret is that I only went for the half hour.

Chocolate Lavender Body Scrub 5/6

60 minutes $120

Take pleasure in this delicious treatment as chocolate with soothing lavender, pumice, and seaweed nourish your skin while leaving you with a healthy glow. This treatment is loaded with antioxidants and powerful minerals for your skin.

My next treatment was performed by Val. You begin by disrobing (completely) and lying down on a heated bed covered by a sauna blanket. The combination of heat, dim lighting, and soft music has you relaxed before the practitioner even comes into the room.
This treatment begins with an all organic, fine grained scrub, scented with lavender and chocolate.
It was applied (with a massage) to my legs, back, shoulders and stomach. I was then left alone to hop into the in – room shower and rinse off. While I was rinsing, Val was busy switching up the linens on the bed so that when I emerged (completely relaxed) from the shower, we were all set to begin the massage.
At the beginning of the treatment, Val had asked me if there was any area I would like her to concentrate on and I had chosen my back and shoulders, am I ever glad I did! Val expertly eased all the tension from my neck and shoulders until I was limp with relaxation.
I emerged from this treatment relaxed, smelling great, and with skin that stayed soft for days.

Satori is definitely a great relaxing getaway and I recommend it highly to anyone in the GTA
